Today our communities are filled with different positions of work to help assist vehicles in car wrecks, private parking zones and more. The most commonly known vehicle for assisting the neighborhood are tow trucks. There are three different types of tow trucks that are used today and each one is used for a different purpose. The three types of vehicles are axle cradling, flatbed, and hook and chain. The hook and chain is one of the oldest trucks used. How this truck works is the chain is hooked around the towed vehicle. Axle cradling is different, a large metal yoke is fitted under the front wheels and a hydraulic hoist is used to lift the front of the vehicle. A flatbed tow truck has a bed in the back of the truck that can hydraulically move the bed up and down to insert the car so it may be towed.
However, there are accessories and tools that can be added to these trucks. These tools are used to help make sure the vehicle can be towed by the truck present. Versatility and correct function of these tow trucks are crucial to getting the vehicle being towed to the exact location it is set to go.
